Research strategy

The collection and dissemination of robust research evidence stand as fundamental pillars in our mission to ensure that our programs effectively address the needs of the communities they serve and promote the sharing of best practices.
Research empowers us not only as a tool for advocacy, enabling us to champion improved policies and environments, but also as a driving force in advancing the concept of health diplomacy, which remains in its formative stages.

By actively contributing to the global body of knowledge in this evolving field through the publication of research papers and by fostering collaboration with like-minded global partners, Rozana positions itself at the vanguard of 'Health Diplomacy'.

For Rozana, research represents a fundamental organizational endeavor that contributes to our continuous learning, the enhancement of program quality, and the effectiveness of our advocacy efforts. Consequently, we prioritize research that carries practical implications for both our programs and the policies we champion. The knowledge gaps we aim to address may encompass generic or context-specific areas, but the paramount consideration is the pertinence of research findings to our mission and work.

We have identified four key objectives to guide decision-making around research

These four objectives constitute our roadmap for achieving our research mission and are instrumental in supporting our broader organizational objectives and the betterment of the communities we serve.

1. Enhancing our research

to maximize its effective application in our programs and advocacy efforts, including sharing best practices.

2. Conducting high-quality research

within priority setting to generate evidence-based research that addresses global knowledge deficits in the realms of health and peace, while contributing to knowledge creation in the field.

3. Strengthening our organizational capacity

and fostering partnerships that facilitate the creation, comprehension, and application of research evidence.

4. Generating and disseminating research findings

within the organization and beyond, to become the global leaders in the field of 'Health Diplomacy'.

Two major impacts arising from the project activities are evaluated:
  1. The elevation of empathy in the healthcare sector among Israelis and Palestinians, evident at the levels of projectparticipants and their respective communities.
  2. The enhancement of healthcare for Palestinian patients, concurrent with the provision of training and certification for Palestinian practitioners, thereby supporting their professional growth and enabling them to train their colleagues. Additionally, the WOH project facilitated the transportation and treatment of Palestinian patients at Israeli hospitals
